Bro. James became our Pastor on October 5, 2008. He graduated from Criswell College in Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. He worked for Office Depot for twelve years while serving Bi-Vocationally as Youth Minister, and Associate Pastor.

Bro. James and his wife Tammy have been married for twelve years and they have two sons Joshua (2009) and Josiah (2013).


Bro. James says, “My greatest priority as Pastor is to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Eph. 4:12). My conviction is that only as people know God through His Word will they become passionate about fulfilling the Great Commission.”

He serves as a School Board Trustee for Gholson ISD (www.gholsonisd.org).  Bro. James also works at Lake Shore Funeral Home (http://www.lakeshorefuneralhome.com/).

Assistant Pastor

Rick became our Assistant Pastor on July 23, 2017.  He graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Religion.  He served as a deacon for a year before accepting the Assistant Pastor position with us.  Currently works for Allergan and has done so since 2014. 

Rick and his wife, Kristie, have been married for four years and have one son Nathan (2017).

Rick says, “I am passionate about teaching the people of God about the Word of God so that they can be effective servants of God (2 Tim. 3:16).  I hope to be as much of a blessing to the church and community of Gholson as it has been to my family and I.”  






Youth Minister

The First Baptist Church of Gholson seeks a Part Time Youth Minister.  The Part Time Youth Minister must be a born again believer and will be subject to the guidelines laid out in I and II Timothy and Titus as a called Minister. The Part Time Youth Minister will direct and evaluate a comprehensive ministry within the church directed toward Youth and Families that fosters discipleship and spiritual growth. This position should require a minimum of 5 hours per week (Sunday School, Sunday Morning, Sunday Night and Wednesday Night. This position will also include bi-monthly activities, youth camp and Vacation Bible School. Dusty has been working in our nursery for over 8 years. She started working in the nursery when her son was two years old. In 2008 she became the Nursery Director.

David Pafford

 

Bro. David is no stranger to the Music Ministry of the Church. He served for over twenty years as the Minister of Music at Bellmead Calvary Baptist Church.  Bro. David voluntarily serves our church as our Song Leader and our pianist Sunday Night.   






Pianist

Pianist Needed

First Baptist Church of Gholson seeks a Part Time Pianist. This position becomes available May 6.

This position should require a minimum of 3 hours per week. Sunday Mornings from 10:20 am - 12 pm and Wednesday Night practice from 6:50 pm - 8 pm.

Pay: $75 per Service

($150 a week for Sunday & Wednesday)

I grew up in Waco and graduated from Connally High School.  My husband, Tommy, and I have two children, Tommy and Carrie; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  We have had the privilege of living in many places but moved back home in 1999.  The Lord has given us many wonderful experiences, and we are grateful.

I’m happiest when: My family is all together
